Upcoming Dozē Day - Greening Restoration and Stewardship
July 15, 2013
Ready to do some good in our city and enjoy this beautiful sunshine while we’re at it? Our next Dozē Day is next Sunday, July 28 and we’ve partnered with Evergreen, a national charity with a mission to make cities more livable.
Expect to get your hands dirty! We will be removing invasive blackberry plants and taking water quality samples from the stream! Everyone is welcome, bring a friend or two, or three and come join the Dozē crew as we learn about some of today’s critical environmental challenges andengage in work to be a part of the solution.
Some acitivites will include:
planting native trees, shrubs, plants and flowers
removing invasive species
maintenance and monitoring
educational walks and talks
development and educational interpretive signage
onsite training and skills development
We will be meeting at 9:45am next to Renfrew Ravine Park at 27th Avenue and Atlin Street. The event will go until noon and there will be some snacks and drinks for everyone! Wear suitable gear, we will get dirty! Evergreen will provide gloves and any other supplies we will need!
Evergreen’s mission is to inspire and enable action to green cities by bringing diverse groups of people together, inspiring them with ideas and engaging them to take action. By convening environmental innovators, city builders and researchers at the forefront of the emerging green economy, and engaging Canadians to be part of the conversation and solution, Evergreen is helping to create sustainable cities.
